Choosing the right aesthetic injector can be a significant decision, as it involves considerations related to your health, safety, and desired outcomes. It is crucial to choose the right provider for facial injectables and injectable treatments to ensure satisfaction and safety. Here are some factors to consider when making your choice:

1. Reputation and Credentials

Research the reputation and credentials of the aesthetic practice and their providers. Check their credentials, certifications, and any affiliations with reputable medical associations. Choose a board-certified facial cosmetic surgeon who specializes in mastering the art and science of facial aesthetics for safe and personalized results.

The injectors that have completed additional certifications and training and more have taken extra steps to help define themselves as experts. There is an increase in aesthetic injectors entering the field, it can be overwhelming to choose and difficult to not shop price versus quality. But, come on, it’s your face!

So, ask the right questions and find out what can help you determine the right person to take on the labor-intensive task of adequately assessing your face. How do you know your dollars spent are being put to effective use by an actual expert otherwise?

2. Experience and Expertise

Experience matters in aesthetic procedures. Look for practices with experienced professionals who have a proven track record of performing the specific treatments you’re interested in. Ask about their experience, the number of procedures they’ve performed, their specialized training, and if they have before-and-after photos of their work.

For optimal outcomes and safety, it is crucial to receive injectable treatments from a licensed professional.

3. Range of Aesthetic Treatments Offered

Consider the range of services offered by the practice. Choose a practice that offers a comprehensive range of aesthetic treatments and procedures to address your specific needs and goals. This ensures you have access to various options and can receive personalized recommendations tailored to your preferences.

Some of the services can include dermal fillers, neurotoxins, biostimulators, lasers, medical grade skincare and more.

4. Consultation Process

The consultation process is crucial for understanding your options, setting realistic expectations, and addressing any concerns you may have. Choose a practice that offers thorough consultations where you can discuss your goals, ask questions, and receive personalized recommendations from a qualified professional.

During the consultation, consider exploring multiple aesthetic services to create a unique and personalized look. A thorough consultation is like enrolling in a philosophy course, providing a deeper understanding of your aesthetic options.

5. Safety and Cleanliness

Prioritize safety and cleanliness when choosing an aesthetic practice. Ensure the practice follows strict safety protocols, maintains a clean and hygienic environment, and uses sterile equipment and products. Look for practices that adhere to industry standards and regulations for safety and infection control. Seek out practices who ensure your safety by offering additional imaging like ultrasound or Accuvein to improve accuracy of injections.

6. Patient Reviews and Testimonials

Reading patient reviews and testimonials can provide valuable insights into the quality of care and patient satisfaction at the practice. Look for reviews on reputable platforms and consider the overall feedback from past patients when evaluating your options. Reading these reviews is like uncovering ‘The Secret History’ of the practice, revealing the true quality and experiences of past patients.

Patient reviews often reflect certain visual similarities in the results, indicating the practice’s consistency and expertise.

7. Technology and Facilities

Consider the technology and facilities available at the practice. Choose a practice that invests in state-of-the-art equipment and technology to deliver safe, effective, and advanced treatments. Modern facilities with comfortable amenities can enhance your overall experience and comfort during your visit.

8. Cost

Cost is a crucial factor to consider, but it should not be the sole determining factor. While it is essential to find a practice that offers competitive pricing, prioritize quality and safety over cost alone.

9. Location and Accessibility

Consider the location and accessibility of the aesthetic practice. Choose a location that is convenient for you to travel to and has ample parking or public transportation options. Accessibility can impact your overall experience and make it easier to schedule appointments and follow-up visits.

By carefully considering these factors and conducting thorough research, you can choose the right aesthetic practice that aligns with your needs and can perform the right aesthetic treatments, preferences, and goals for aesthetic enhancement. Interview with Carmen Puckett, RN, CANS

Check out our interview with Carmen Puckett, one of our own Aesthetic Injectors, to go behind the scenes and learn more about how to choose the injector who is right for you!

As an experienced injector, what are some of the concerns you would have while choosing an injector for facial injectables for yourself?

Carmen: My main concerns would be making sure the injector I choose has had adequate training as well as their overall experience in that field. I am happy to say that my abilities have drastically improved each year I’ve been practicing. That comes with the extensive training I’ve entered myself in, the certifications I’ve achieved, as well as the ability to have most of my patients come back to me so that I can monitor their progress.

I also take the responsibility to assess the entire face from a place of balancing the face, not just injecting where a patient asks me to. It’s difficult at times to explain to someone that their goals cannot be achieved by their specific plan, and every single face is different.

When you inject someone, what steps do you take to make sure that you are making the most of their money and get the best results?

Carmen: That is the main thing, what are their goals? What is their face shape? Does their budget allow them to achieve the specific goals they are looking for? I want to ensure there is clear communication between me and my patients, so their expectations are realistic. I believe in my abilities and expertise to correctly inform a patient about where their dollars are best spent.

What steps have you taken to differentiate yourself as the right aesthetic injector from other injectors?

Carmen: I would say the number one thing that sets me apart is that I truly listen, hear what they want, and take the time to educate them for what is best for them, helping them achieve their particular aesthetic. Also, products change, new services can be added. New techniques are discovered all the time. As an injector, the best way to service your patients is by staying up to date on all that you can offer and constantly sharpening your skillset. At Yoo Direct Health, we pride ourselves on innovation, that is the cornerstone of being someone’s primary injector and a responsibility I take very seriously.

What makes you proud of yourself as an injector?

Carmen: My patient’s results speak for themselves. I have no issue saying “no.” I believe the best way to be proud of your work is by utilizing your learning and education to give the best results to patients. They feel heard and seen in my consultations, they get the truth and when we decide to inject, they are happy with the results because we set it up the right way. I always hear, “It looks so natural” “I feel more confident,” nothing is better than knowing you helped someone’s self-esteem or helped them with an insecurity. Or just adding a sparkle to all my already-beautiful patients.

When you say “no,” to a patient, like you mentioned, what reactions do you receive?

Carmen: I think laying that groundwork with the consultation, and setting clear expectations, people are usually understanding. If you come from a place of caring and respecting someone’s budget and goals, they usually appreciate honesty. And I never just say “no.” I usually give other recommendations. That can be as easy as saying, “your goals might be better served by a plastic surgeon.” or “I would dissolve the current filler you have and start from scratch.” I cannot tell you how many times patients come in “over-filled” and I have to explain that to get their best results, we might have to start over.

I want each patient to have results that last, and improving skin texture and skin-integrity is the first step, and sometimes the most important one! Again, I always come up with solutions, so overall patients are receptive to my advice.
